2nd Triathlon – 10 days to go…
Just finished another tri-workout, read this post from 1 ½ months ago (CLICK HERE)
I completed the exact same route this morning which is made up of a 9 mile bike ride, 3.1 mile run, and 1/3 mile swim. Leading into the first triathlon, I completed this tri-workout about half dozen times and I had my best time 6 days before the first triathlon (post above). I can honestly say I am not as “jacked up” over this 2nd triathlon as I was the first and I have been enjoying the weekends more heading into this 2nd TRI. When I say “enjoy”, I mean cheating more on my nutrition (both food and beers)…we seem to have cookouts every weekend. Anyways, there was a part of me that thought I was in better shape a couple of months ago but I no longer think that…
Prior to today, my best time on this workout was 1 hour 3 minutes and 27 seconds…this morning I shaved off 23 seconds from it leaving me with a final time of 1 hour 3 minutes and 4 seconds
Now, this does not mean you can cheat on your nutrition and expect to lose fat and gain muscle. I know I would be in a lot better shape if I maintained a solid nutrition plan throughout but I do not consider myself a fitness freak…just a married guy with kids looking to stay in shape while enjoying my weekends
