    Archive: Shakeology 3-day Cleanse

    P90X Triathlon – 51 days to go…

Lost another 2lbs so my total weight loss was 9.5lbs in 3 days…that is nuts!

I do enjoy cold beer on the weekends and I have been cheating once or twice a week but I honestly thought my nutrition has been pretty good so I was only expecting to lose 2-3 pounds tops. My goal of this 3-day shakeology cleanse was to eliminate any toxins I may have in my body which I am assuming I did..or at least hope. I do feel great so I am glad I sucked it up for three days and completed it! I personally did not think this was too tough of a challenge…nor was it easy though, somewhere in between I guess.

I did complete the “shoulders & arms” routine this morning but it wasn’t my best workout. I am looking forward to having an intense workout tomorrow morning seeing that I have been eating carbs throughout the day today.

    Shakeology 3-day Performance Cleanse – Day 3

This is crazy, I dropped another 2 ½ pounds. I am down to 188 so a total of 7 ½ pounds in two days.

I really did not think I was going to lose this much weight, my guess is most of it was bloat/water weight. Seeing that this is the last day of the challenge, I can honestly say it’s not too difficult to follow. Surprisingly, I haven’t been that hungry throughout the day and I have plenty of energy. There are times during the day that I wish I could eat but that is expected.

I did not workout yesterday, I decided to take the day off once I realized I was 5 pounds lighter. Today I completed core synergistics but I was not really into it so I basically just went through the motions with little to no intensity. I find that I have plenty of energy during the day but exercising is a different story. I am glad I completed a BRICK (bike/run) workout the morning of my first day of the performance cleanse, I am not so sure I could bang one out right now.

I will weigh myself again in the morning and let you know my total weight loss of the 3 days.

    Shakeology 3-day Performance Cleanse – Day 2

    What’s going on???

My weight has dropped 5 whole pounds in 1 day. I am not sure if I should be happy about that or not, I am really just surprised. I went into this Shakeology 3-day Challenge looking to eliminate all toxins from my body. I figured I would lose a pound or two but not 5 in the first day. I weighed in yesterday at 195.5 pounds and this morning I weighed 190.5….I ended up weighing myself three times because I could not believe it. Since day 90 of P90X, my weight has fluctuated between 193 and 197…but has never dropped below 193.

Other than wanting to snack every so often, I have nothing bad to say about this challenge so far. The Shakeology shakes could taste better but when you consider they have over 70 healthy ingredients in them, they don’t taste bad at all.

I’ll be shocked if I lose anymore weight but I guess it wouldn’t be too far fetch if I did, I will keep you posted…

    Shakeology 3-day Performance Cleanse – Day 1

Not knowing how I was going to feel energy-wise the next couple of days, I wanted to get in a BRICK workout (bike/run) this morning. I workout early in the morning so my body actual uses what I ate the day before as fuel to exercise. I changed it up a bit and rode a different route on my bike. I figured out the exact biking distance of my triathlon race (9 miles) and followed it up with a 3.1 mile run (also race distance). The first two miles of my bike ride were intense as the route consisted of a steady 2 mile hill with a couple of downside hills. I finished both the bike and run in 59 minutes 45 seconds so now I have a time to beat next time I attempt the same route. Also, IT’S OFFICIAL…I will not be taking first prize at the triathlon race. Based on last year times, some tri-athletes finished the swim/bike/run under 55 minutes…and it took me 59 minutes just to finish the bike/run! All kidding aside, my primary goal is to finish without stopping but I am hoping I can keep a solid pace throughout.

    Now for Shakeology…

5:15am – I started the morning with a cup of green tea before exercising

5:30am – 9 mile bike ride followed by 3.1 mile run

7:00am – Shakeology drink mixed with 12oz of water and crushed ice

     10:00am – Apple

1:00pm – Shakeology drink mixed with 12oz of water

1:15pm – Cup of green tea

5:30pm – 3 cups shredded lettuce with 4 ounces of non-seasoned grill chicken breast topped with 2tbsp of Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing

6:00pm – Shakeology drink mixed with 12oz of water and crushed ice

**Had about 3-5 liters of water throughout the day**

Day 1 is almost over (going to bed soon) and it actually was not that bad to stick with it….by no means was it easy but it’s very doable. I did feel like every snack I saw was calling my name but I did not think twice about cheating so it wasn’t that bad. They claim day 1 is the hardest but I have a feeling day 2 is going to be tougher so we’ll see…

    Shakeology 3-day Cleanse Challenge

There has been a lot of hype around the Shakeology 3-day Performance Cleanse among the beachbody community. For those that are not familiar with Shakeology, it’s a nutritious meal replacement in a glass. It’s made up of 70 healthy ingredients and is by far the best meal of the day when taken. This shake not only helps you lose weight, it also increases your energy level, improves your digestion and regularity system and aids in lowering your cholesterol. Okay, I am done trying to promote something that I have never taken myself…until now anyways.

I decided to take the Shakeology 3-day Cleanse Challenge (next week). Personally, I have always wanted to do some sort of body cleanse but I never took the initiative to start one. Call me naive but I am intrigued on how a cleanse can eliminate toxins from your body…it just sounds like a healthy thing to do. The Shakeology 3-day Cleanse acts like a master cleanse by flushing out toxins and was designed to make your body more efficient. It’s not only a great way to jump-start your fitness program but it can also help you break through your plateau. What makes the Shakeology 3-day Cleanse appealing to me is it’s considered a performance cleanse which means you can exercise while doing it….and it’s only 3 days!

Shakeology 3-day Cleanse works in 3 ways:

    - Flushes toxins and junk out of your system

    - Brings your hydration levels into homeostasis (most people retain way too much water due to excessive sodium in their diets)

    - Helps your body to absorb lots of good, clean nutritients

    You will see Results in:

    - Feeling cleaner, lighter, healthier, and more energetic

    - Reduces bloat (stomach)

    - Weight loss

abone: Your workouts are not only impressive but very inspirational too, keep it up!

Matt: Hey man, I just wanted to say that your blog is great! Two months ago my roommmate and I decided we were sitting on the couch too much, and we renovated the garage and turned it into a home gym, with floor mats and dumbbells, etc. We decided to do P90X, but since we're both traveling a lot this Summer we're not starting until the first week of September. Getting ready for P90X, I've been working out in the garage doing cardio and weights for about an hour a day, and I've been cooking a ton of healthy, high protein foods too. Altogether, I'm down about 15 lbs, and I feel great. I can't wait to start P90X next month, and I'll be reading your blog along the way for tips. Thanks for everything you've done!

fightFATblogger: That is a significant drop. You may want to look at my P90X MASS routine, read the articles under the "popular post" column. Also, I highly recommend buying a 40lb exercise vest...I absolutely love mine and it crushes you during the chest workouts (I bought mine on amazon for $70)

Otis: Hey I am 6 weeks in and I went to the gym to do some bench and I have gone from benching 315 to barely being able to do 195. I am pissed! I have lost so much strength!!! Any advice? I am ready to quit! Losing that much strength isnt worth the 2% bodyfat I have lost or all the beer I havent drank since day 1

fightFATblogger: Thanks! Check out the link below but minus out the casein protein shakes to start. Both Drisc and I lost 27-30 pounds following this program for 90 days (I allowed myself about 5 cheat meals in 90 days)...we pretty much kept our calorie count between 1700-1900 a day. As you get more fit, your body will demand more calories (metabolism increases) so throw in those casein shakes or something similiar. Everyone is different so listen to your body to make sure you are eating enough. P90 will definitly get you ready for P90X, keep in touch... http://fightfatblogger.com/nutrition/
