If you are not considering the P90X nutrition plan, you should…especially if your goal is to lose fat.
This is not advertised in the P90X nutrition guide but I did read it from a BeachBody (P90X) trainer’s post. "The P90X daily calorie requirement mark is to maintain weight so if you are looking to drop some poundage (and fat), you could decrease 500-700 calories from it."
If you do decide to decrease your calorie intake, do it with caution. If you drop it too low, you are not doing your body any justice and it may go into "starvation mode" which will work against your goals (not lose fat, not gain muscle).
Ultimately, everyone is different so you should listen to your body. Your body will tell you if it needs more calories or not.

I just started the program this week, and I'm built a lot like you. Your results are great, and I was wondering if you used any weight loss pills or supplements in addition to the diet plan and the exercise? Also, I was a little confused about the fat shredding part of the diet plan, as it says you are supposed to only consure 1 serving of fat per day which equals 120 calories. (120 calories = 13 grams of fat per day) If this is correct that seems impossible. Can you help me out with my logic here at all? I've been eating very well, egg white omelets, protein shakes twice a day, light string cheese for snacks, grilled chicken for lunch, and turkey burgers and vegetables for dinner but my fat intake is at about 35g for a 2200 calorie diet.

Don't be too concerned on the fat calories, 35g is not bad at all…you need to eat fat to burn fat.
Are you familiar with "my plate" at livestrong.com? It's a free calorie count program. I recommend you signing up (free) and inputting all of the food you eat on it. It will not only give you the calorie count but it will also show you ratios. The fat shredder phase says you should have 50% of your diet protein, 30% carbs, and 20% fat. I found it very hard to hit the 50% protein…i was hiting 40-40-20 (protein-carbs-fat) easily though. Do that and let me know your ratio…
I take whey protein before I workout, p90x recovery drink afterwards, and casein protein right before bed. I am considering a pre-workout supplement like jack3d but have not committed to it yet.

Ya I've actually been using that program the past couple days, I saw it posted on ur blog before, it works great. I just looked at my ratios and I've been 60/25/15 all week. I think i misinterpreted some of the nutrition plan, I'll have to go back and look again, but my ratios are well within range, maybe too much so… First week is rough, I've been lifting for years and never thought I'd be struggling to get through the videos and be so soar. You're pics are a great motivation tho!
