So, been on vacation since I finished round one of P90x. My mindset has totally changed, but I am not missing p90x just yet. I have been running every other day pretty much on vacation. Have got in some good runs…either 3.2 or 4.4 miles each time. Have one more day of vaca tomorrow, so may try to squeeze in the 4-miler first thing in the AM.
I think I have decided to do a p90x cardio mix for the next couple of months. I am going to try to work in two resistance days (probably eliminate legs/back) and then have four cardio days. The day before my rest day will be a heavy cardio day — either a longer run than normal, a longer bike ride, or a run & bike day. I think this will allow me to get in the kind of shape I am hoping to be in this summer.
Lattro – as for the yoga. I gave it up after the second week. Replaced it with CardioX until about Phase 3 where I replaced it with a 3-4 mile run.

I am assuming you supplemented cardioX or something else for Kenpo? Did you do the same for Yoga or did you just cut the yoga day all together and throw in a run or something like that? I'm asking because I was considering swapping cardiox for kenpo and maybe even yogo also if I can keep up.
Yes, I threw in another resistance training workout and incorporated "interval training" for the other. Check out the link below, it's what I am doing…
I recommend doing straight-up P90X first if your goal is to lose fat. I would only do this if you are satisified with your body fat % and looking to bulk up a bit.

I have been cheating every week but my weight has stayed the same so I am assuming my metabolism is still cranking. This round of P90X is so much easier than the first. I am not as diciplined on nutrition (weekends) and I cut out kenpo and yoga…loving it!

So i have now run the last 3 days….can't remember doing that since high school. Ran 4 miles Tuesday and Wednesday on the treadmill and then today decided to run outside….wow was that different. I decided to do a 2 mile loop and then the famous FFB interval sprints. So started out on my run and I was getting tired very quickly….and couldn't wait to finish. I didn't have a stop watch but I had my phone and used the stop watch on that. So when I was done I couldn't figure out why I was so tired….I went at a decent pace. So I looked at my phone and it had just hit 15 minutes. 7 and half minute miles! That was the reason. I usually run between 9 and 10 minute miles on the treadmill. Did feel like I was going faster but it is just so different running outside. I will need to get a stop watch to pace myself. So needless to say I was exhausted and was only able to do 8 40 yard sprints. On the first four I jogged back the last four I had to walk back. I wanted to get 10 done but I was dead. Might try to get another run in tonight on the treadmill. We will see.

Started week 12 last night. Had a great chest, shoulders, tris workout. I honestly have not felt great during many of my workouts ever since I got sick. Obviously not all from the sickness, some of it is just being tired and not as motivated. That said, felt really good last night and went pretty hard at this workout. I think I like this workout because it doesn't repeat the exercises. Maybe, I am just coming around on these "Phase 2″ workouts, because I like the Back & Biceps, too.

Havent worked out in over 10 days. With going away for the weekend…then my basement flooding, then traveling, then going away again for the weekend to a cheerleading competition I haven't had the desire or time to workout. Plus my left shoulder is killing me….did something to it when I was ripping out carpet. So my goal for the next 2 weeks is to run every day, no beer and eat healthy. Hopefully lose a few pounds I put on and then start lifting again. At that point I am going to lift 2 days a week and cardio 4 to get ready for the triathlon.

Had a good couple of days working out. On Saturday ran 3.4 miles and felt great. This is the first time I have run outside this year, so that was nice. In the past I have struggled running outside vs. treadmill, but I was able to pace myself a lot better this time around. Then the rest of the day, I raked in the yard for a few hours. That is a workout in itself.
Today I did Shoulders & Arms and had another really good workout. This was probably the best I have done at this one (at least that I can remember). Did pretty good even on the side-tri-rise and was able to knockout 10 reps per side both times. Was happy with that. Then I raked in the yard for another few hours.
My plan is to do the 3.4 mile run again tomorrow and then start week 12 on Tuesday. I have not been 100% by the book the last couple of weeks, but feel good about the workouts I have been getting in lately. I will finish up p90x on Saturday, then leave for Floriday on Sunday. W

Did Plyo last night (partly). It was not a good workout in terms of intensity or energy. Many factors came into play as I am not only still getting back in the swing after being sick, but I also did not start the workout until almost 9pm after a long day of work. I knew from the outset it was not going to be good and took everything I had to even go downstairs and get started. Ended up calling it quits after 30-35 minutes or so. Just had nothing left and, honestly, wanted no part of finishing this thing off. I know this is just a little set back from being sick, so not going to worry about. Hoping to sneak in Back & Biceps today before lunch heading into the weekend.

Tuesday night I ran 2.5 miles to finish my double. Didn't get a workout in yesterday. Today was back and legs but I ran 4.5 miles instead and did half of abs…along with some push ups just to make it feel like I did something other then cardio. I think I am going to do the opposite of the FFB and switch to 4 days cardio and 2 lifting. I think I am getting bigger in my chest and arms but I need to lose the weight in my gut. I am thinking:
1. Running
2. Chest & Back or Chest, Shoulders and Tris
3. Plyo/Running
4. Running
5. Shoulders & Arms or Chest, Biceps and Tris
6. Kenpo/Running
Finish up March with this routine and then do something similiar for the next few months to get ready for the triathlon but adding biking and swimming in there also.

Got back at it today after three days of being sick. Started week 10 with Chest, Shoulders, Tris. Coming off the sickness, I was definitely dead very early in the workout but kept pushing through until the end. Despite being completely drained at the end of the hour, it felt good to get back on track. I noticed on the tri work especially, that I had nothing on the reps so I lowered my weight towards the end. My favorite is the fly-row-press, though, and I was able to complete that one. Have to do Plyo tomorrow, I hope I can get some energy back.

Cranked out shoulders and arms this morning and abs. Feels good doing these workouts that I haven't done for 5 weeks. Feel sore in a good way. Was supposed to do this workout yesterday but didn't get a chance. Going to run tonight to make up for missing a workout and then legs and back tomorrow.

Been sick the last couple of days, so haven't been able to get my workouts in. I was hoping to start back tomorrow, but haven't really felt 100% today, so I am going to take one more day tomorrow and then start week 10. I just have too much coming up, to rush back too quickly and end up really sick. Bottom line is I am finishin up my first round of p90x end of this month then going on vacation. After vacation, I am going to come up with a plan that incorporates some of the p90x workouts with running and biking. Still figuring out what exactly that will look like, but most likely will have 4 days of cardio and 2 days of the p90x resistance training.

Today was Plyo….did the first 35 minutes then stopped and ran a little more then 2 miles. Ran the first mile in about 10 minutes then ran hard for a minute and slow for 30 seconds and alternated for the last 10 minutes. I just think Plyo isn't anything great the last 2 sets starting with rock star hops. Also did half of abs today considering I missed it yesterday.

Got in a three mile run this evening in place of Kenpo. Probably the best I have felt running yet. May have gone longer, but I have a sick kid and my wife was at a shower all day, so just finding the half hour to work out was a win. I did have myself a good handful of beers last night, so I am glad I was able to keep my schedule and burn off some of those wasted calories. Legs and Back tomorrow to finish week 9…..definitely my least favorite workout.

Alright, I was going to bring it today…hasn't started off so good. Don't usually work out in the morning but wanted to do some doubles today. Got up ate breakfast and then went to workout. 1/3 of the way through Back and Chest I felt nauseas….2/3 through I was was feeling worse. Had to stop. I will plan to finish it this afternoon with abs….then run also. Gonna rest and take some recovery drink….and hope to get back on it in a few hours.

Shoulders and Arms this morning. Came back strong from yesterday's struggle through Plyo. Felt good throughout and got a really good burn during the second half of the workout. I will say the side-tri-rises are still a bit awkward, but I bang out some awkward reps of my own. Usually try for 8-10 reps a side, which I consider a big win from where I started…but my form is admittedly terrible. I do still have this cold brewing, so we will see how the cardio goes tomorrow. I am scheduled for Kenpo. Might switch it up with a run or a combination of the two, we'll see how I am feeling.

Followed up yesterday's "feeling great" workount with a terrible Plyo workout this morning. I am coming down with a cold and felt like crap the whole time. Ended up calling it quits right before the "bonus" round. So, not a good thing to stop it early but I was to the point where I was feeling light headed…that's enough to call it quits. I guess, all in all, I got in 90% of the workout anyway, so not a total loss. Just hoping this cold doesn't amount to anything.

Okay, drisc…phase 3 has arrived!
Not sure if you noticed it yet or not but it's longer than the first 2 phases (an extra week).
These past 60 days you have increased your metabolism to maybe an all-time high so it's pretty much screaming right now. If you have it in you, now is the time to step it up another notch. It's sounds like you have been solid on your nutrition so just keep that up. It also sounds like your workouts are going very well. I guess the only thing you could do is to fit in some extra cardio workouts…as well as maintain what you have been doing.
I shouldn't be telling you this but you mentioned in the past about going away next weekend on a mini-vacation. Phase 3 is the time you can afford to cheat because of your metabolism is so high. I cheated more in phase 3 than I did in phase 1 and 2…but I also did extra cardio workouts in an effort to nuetralize it. Even though I cheated more, I saw the biggest transformation in phase 3 and I lost more weight than I did in phase 2.
Either way, maintain your nutrition and do your best to fit in those extra workouts…you will not be disappointed!
